Our History
The Fort Pierce-St. Lucie County Chamber of Commerce was founded in 1906 as the local board of trade and later became the Fort Pierce-St. Lucie County Chamber. In 1977, the G.O. Team was formed and partnered with the Chamber, a relationship that ended in 1990 when the G.O. Team (later the St. Lucie County Economic Development Council) moved to its own office.
In 1982, the Greater Port St. Lucie Chamber was created to serve businesses in southern St. Lucie County. The St. Lucie County Chamber of Commerce, as it exists today, formed in 1993 through the merger of the Fort Pierce-St. Lucie County Chamber, the Greater Port St. Lucie Chamber, and the G.O. Team.
In 1999, the Chamber partnered with the City of Fort Pierce to operate the St. Lucie County Visitor Center in the historic Seven Gables House. In 2013, the Chamber’s administrative offices moved to Midway Road for better access to both Port St. Lucie and Fort Pierce. As of March 2023, the Chamber’s offices are located at 2580 Rhode Island Ave., Fort Pierce, FL 34947.
Today, we continue to proudly serve as the Unified Chamber of St. Lucie County, representing businesses in Fort Pierce, Port St. Lucie, and all of St. Lucie County.
