St. Lucie County Chamber of Commerce Foundation Young Floridian Scholarship Program Winners

Fort Pierce, FL – The St. Lucie County Chamber of Commerce Foundation congratulates the Young Floridian Scholarship Program Winners for the 2019-2020 academic year.

The Young Floridian Award was established in 1985 by General Development Corporation to recognize outstanding seniors for achievement and service to their school and community. Young Floridian awards honor one St. Lucie high school senior in 15 academic or extracurricular disciplines.

Winners were announced at the award ceremony on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at the Indian River State College McAlpin Fine Arts Theatre. Each winner received a $1,000 scholarship to the college or university of their choice and/or a two-year full scholarship to IRSC.

Callie Zheng from Lincoln Park Academy was the winner of Academic Excellence. Jada Walker from Fort Pierce Westwood Academy was the winner of Academies/Certifications/Manufacturing. Robensky Celisca from Fort Pierce Westwood Academy was the winner of Art. Julia Demott from Lincoln Park Academy was the winner of Athletics. Kimberly Vazquez Penaran from Treasure Coast High School was the winner of Career & Technology. Alanus Senkus from St. Lucie West Centennial High School was the winner of Computer Science/Engineering & Architecture. Andy Rodriguez from Fort Pierce Central High School was the winner of Drama. Ethan Sierra from John Carroll High School was the winner of Foreign Language. Victoria Lafary from Lincoln Park Academy was the winner of Human Services. Sariah Strunk from Lincoln Park Academy was the winner of Journalism & Communications. Kate Capezza from John Carroll High School was the winner of Language Arts. Devan Fischbeck from John Carroll High School was the winner of Mathematics. Paul Scala from Lincoln Park Academy was the winner of Music. Nicole Vargas from Treasure Coast High School was the winner of Science. Haley Hogue from Lincoln Park Academy was the winner of Social Studies.
