Committees and Councils
Getting involved in a committee or council is the best way to get to know other business owners and let them find out about you. The St. Lucie County Chamber of Commerce is very fortunate to have many committees to choose from that are very active in the community.
The
Ambassador Committee is comprised of members who are eager
to promote the Chamber. This committee is instrumental in planning,
implementing, and hosting many special events. An Ambassadorship
is an opportunity to learn about new businesses and services coming
into the Chamber and to network with others to promote their own
business. For a list of Ambassadors, click

The Business & Industry Committee
encourages growth of existing companies through a regular visitation
program. Committee members are responsible for informing businesses
of services and available assistance, and host an annual dinner honoring
the contributions of new and expanded businesses.
The Membership Services Committee
is focused on reviewing and obtaining membership benefits and services
for our members. This committee works with the staff on recruitment
and retention of Chamber members and is credited with the implementation
of the Remember to Member program.
The Education Committee includes
representatives from our educational institutions and is focused on
establishing ways to foster positive relationships between our businesses
and classrooms. This committee works closely with the School Board
to help recruit and retain teachers in St. Lucie County. Each year,
the committee participates in the New Teacher Orientation. The committee
has also established a scholarship fund for St. Lucie County School
teachers in conjunction with Florida Atlantic University.
The Fort Pierce & Port St. Lucie
Area Councils have elected boards with the chairman of each
serving on the Chamber's Board of Directors. These councils serve
in the interest of the businesses in their respective cities, addressing
issues brought to their attention by Chamber members, the Board of
Directors and the citizenry.
The Hispanic Council is focusing
on offering Hispanic owned businesses an opportunity to network
within the Hispanic Community as well as develop business relationships
with other members of the St. Lucie County Chamber of Commerce by
utilizing our extensive list of membership benefits. The Council
will also be developing business seminars designed to address specific
needs identified by the Council and participating in festivals through
business expos. For more information, click

The Leadership St. Lucie Council oversees
the administration of Leadership St. Lucie, and is in charge of seeking
additional ways to encourage our members' leadership roles in the
community. The council is made up of Leadership St. Lucie Alumni and
meets once a month.
The Local, State & National Affairs
Committee serves as the Chamber’s political voice. Through
committee analysis of ideas and problems which face our membership,
we lend our unified opinion to community leaders and help to shape
policies for this community. Our goal is to provide our membership
with a strong business presence in dealing with the County, the State
and even on a National level.
The Minority Business Development Council
published St. Lucie County's first Minority Development Directory
and was instrumental in securing an agreement with the U.S. Small
Business Administration. The Minority & Business Development Council
continues to work to bring educational/informational seminars to area
businesses.
The Tourism Committee focuses
on promoting all St. Lucie County has to offer. This group continuously
develops strategies to expand the tourism base in St. Lucie County.
Promoting tourism involves outreach and education efforts to bring
visitors in to St. Lucie County and ensuring they enjoy their stay.
